O'Gara was a decent ish prospect like last year. Depth for Hartford and he's only 24, could maybe carve out a 6/7 D role for us

Reasonably good value for Holden but was it smart from a timing perspective to essentially eliminate Bruins from an option for McD, at least in "appearance"?

Land of no calls..
I don’t think this takes Boston out of the McDonagh sweepstakes: McDonagh is big game. Holden adds depth and versatility

But why make a deal for a LHD with the Rangers beforehand?

IMO, this means either the price is way too high for Mac and teams are backing off, or some team came to the table with a big offer and other teams are bowing out.

That was my thought as well. Hoping for the latter

Let's pray for the second option.

First q is exactly what I asked.

On the trade: fair value. Hoped for a 2nd but can't complain.

Depth for AHL

Thought that would be the case. I was just hoping, aside from picks, the first trade would include a blue chipper I'd get exited about

A third season decent value for Holden. A second would have been amazing, however, that is a decent return.

Holden adds depth. He can also play RD. Teams are always looking to stock up for the playoffs. You don’t get Holden to play in your top four in the playoffs.

Who is starting the Nick Holden appreciation thread? ......crickets

Not sure how many more grey hairs him and AV caused me to have in the playoffs last year. See ya.
