To be fair, Hull was traded for Doug Gilmour and did have 50 points in 52 games that season.

Hull for Gilmour is the less talked about Iginla for Nieuwendyk.

Those were two separate trades:

Hull was traded, along with Steve Bozek for Rob Ramage and Rick Walmsley.

Gilmour was traded, along with Mark Hunter, Steve Bozek and Michael Dark for Mike Bullard, Craig Coxe and Tim Corkery.

He's definitely a candidate, though I wouldn't have called him a bust in Carolina. More a case of management mishandling a prospect but the prospect still showing signs of being a solid player.

He was drafted low because he was Czech, which was part of the USSR at the time, so they didn't know if he'd ever come over.
