I mean its suprising that it ended in a sweep but the Isles looked like the favorites to me and also quite a few pundints . Crosby , Malkin and Kessel or not that was not a very good Penguin team this season.

One of the best parts of watching the Pens get swept was reminiscing about all the threads from the past 2 years where their fans kept talking about how garbage Marc Andre Fleury is and now their team is golfing (again) while he's still posting shutouts in the playoffs (again).

I wonder what crow tastes like?
Murray was far from the reason the Pens got swept. He was great down the stretch, posting a .930 save percentage since he came back from injury.

It tastes like 2 Cups in a row.
How has your team treated you the past 4 years in April...oh yea....

Pittsburgh sucks. They're a bubble team that barely made the playoffs. Why is their early elimination thread worthy?

Like? Johnson is bad but its only 3 million.

Maatta is moveable at 4mil and is better than Pens fans let on.

If Hornqvist is this for the future...then yah that's a bad contract. But i think he'll rebound...hopefully.
Pittsburgh is in trouble from a cap perspective. They have over $7m committed to JJ and EG.

Hornqvists best days are behind him, he is a PP specialist at this point.

I don’t believe any of those contracts are moveable. That means someone else will need to go, like Kessel.

They have no prospects to speak of.

This may be the start of some tough times in Pittsburgh. The math is not in their favor.

I love me a good shit on the Pens thread but Crosby, Malkin, Letang, etc all have nothing left to prove. All HOF players, 3 cups, multiple individual awards, top of their positions for many years.

Tampa on the other hand was hyped as the cup winner and Tampa fans acted like you were an idiot for suggesting otherwise. That's where the difference is. Their core is overrated big time.

Definitely one of the most overlooked sweeps of all time, rightfully so, but wow this one was pretty bad, too.

The Isles had a whole 2 points more in the reg season. Also the Pens have more talent than the Isles overall.

The Pens have more and better elite talent. That Isles team has overall more talent throughout the lineup.

But if you watched the penguins at all this season, this outcome isn't all that surprising. I guess a sweep wasn't expected, but I didn't have that much hope they'd get out of the first round.

Compared to TBL.. so it's apples and oranges really..

Except somewhere along the way, the Penguins draft lottery fixed gets botch resulting in another 1st overall pick for New Jersey.

The league probably forgot to update their database and still lists Shero as GM of the Pens. Which explains why they're suddenly getting "lucky" with all these 1st overall picks.

I just wanted to say I share the pain of all the Pens-fans.

Oh no. I don't. Goodbye Dynasty.

And thanks to the Islanders for that.
