1.He is a smurf.
2. 9g 26 a in 17GP against u-18s ..but again st juniors of USHL only 1g 7a in 5GP..He probably would do worse against a CHL league like the OHL or WHL or QMJHL.
3. On goal scoring he is good but not exceptional ...there are goal a game guys this year in juniors in the CHL and USHL ..
4.He is an exceptional play-maker BUT he plays with top US u-18 and u-20 talent..the best they have on top lines for the USNTDP ..so he always has 2 of the top wingers atvtjose levels to play with..
5.Even IF he sets up our guys as a 3C or a 1C (if Toews is dropped to 3C) they invariably will not finish as well as the ease with which his linemates at the USNDTP do ..
6. WE cannot play him at 2C with Kane as his winger..why?2 smurf. ..no defense..AND 2 playmaker who are focal drivers of the offense. .it does not work on the same line. .only 1 puck.
7.No Net presence with a smurf C.
8.He is not great defensively.
9. He would being in a haul from another team who are cap'strapped to extend a current star (eh. Brayden Point and the TB situation for next seadon) plus a top prospect plus a 1st rounder ..You get that kind of haul and it could be a lot more to help our fit and situation than trying to fit him into a currently struggling not deep in talent team like us.
