http://surnames.behindthename.com/top/lists/100sws2005.phpSo is the last name Hjalmarsson like a Smith or Johnson in Sweden?
I always figured Salo was a common name in Sweden ,, Surprised it isn't in top 100

I think the name Salo comes from Finland to begin with.
Tommy Salo got roots in Finland if that's who you thought about.
It means oak A lot of Swedish last names consist of two things that you can find in the nature.
Fors = rapid
-berg = mountain
Lund = grove(?)
-qvist = branch/twig
and so on... Ok, this is off topic. Can't comment on Simon Hjalmarsson, haven't seen too much of him to make a judgement.
@HawksCap If you're talking Kevin Hayes I've heard the 'Hawks won't be signing him. Just what I've heard, tho.
What is the latest scoop on Simon Hjalmarsson, especially now with rumors have surfaced that Kevin Hayes will not sign with the Chicago Blackhawks?

Most Common Surnames in Sweden
...
I'd imagine it's no coincidence that most end in 'sson', IE "son of Henrik", "son of Karl", etc etc. Hjammer is probably not a common 1st name and thus Hjalmarsson is not all that common a last name.
