Another thing... the Habs have one line. Terrible depth.
I'd try Roy - Newhook - Armia as the 2nd line, the only players who have an ounce of skill in this bottom-9.

Thing is, it was a line 3 games ago and was doing well, MSL playing 5D coaching decided to put ''Josh is back'' there

Slaf could have had 4 assists easily tonight if his teammates could hit the open net.
On the other hand, he made way too many bad passes, which is very uncharacteristic of him.
Bad hockey game with some fun moments and way too many frustration ones.

We will never get "more value" than trading him now. It's a no-brainer. Kent Hughes NEEDS to trade him.
To have the season he's had offensively on a talent-deprived team like this, he's definitely at peak value. He'll be 30 years old in a few days. Could really get a neat return for him.

We'd then need another vet D for next season, however, it would really depend on how high the return for Matheson might be. Has to be an overpay.

Imagine trading Matheson and trading for Campbell Soup (since we have a lot of cap space, and EDM needs cap $ for a run). We could potentially have the worth of 4 1st round picks. :O
