Uh, it absolutely should happen, those are the teams playing guys on ELCs.

What shouldn't be happening is last place teams getting bonus overages, since last place teams shouldn't be that close to the cap.

We can sign Pezzetta but you may still be nervous as he would likely be waived at some point to go to Laval.

Pezz and Pitlick might be other salary cap casualties, also curious to see what’s the future for Monty.

He is eligible to arbitration and Habs didn’t want the risk to be forced to pay a (too) big salary to a middle 6 player.

He also might not fit into the top-9 and is not suited for 4th line duty.
