Hopefully this is the game shown on SN1. Should be a good one. I predict Sweden with a 4-2 win.

Unfortunatelly Gudas will not play in this game. He has fever. And Pavelec won't be starter for sure.

Something about having a GDT open makes this Olympic hockey tournament seem more real.

It would be an interesting start if the Czechs surprise.

This is going to be awesome. A few legends on the rosters playing their last olympic tourney. Feels fitting, in a way, that it's held in Russia.
Can't wait.

This is going to be a good one. Rooting for the Czech Republic, but I think Sweden will be a bit too much here.

I'll say 4-2 Sweden.

Given it's first day of the tournament, it will be interesting to see if Czechs will gain any advantage of a one third of their squad being from Europe, thus needing no time to adjust to big ice and to overcome jet-lag.

Czech lineup updated.

Salák and Kovář are selected goalies (it's likely Kovář will be starting but nothing official yet). Pavelec is a healthy scratch.

Why would you want it on SN1? This game needs to be on regular SN, or TSN. It is outrageous that the first meaningful hockey game in this tournament gets relegated to a specialty channel, while CBC, SN and TSN are showing preliminary figure skating or cross country skiing.

Finally... The wait is soon over. Will be a hard test, hope to see some lines starting to click. And that Bäckis, Sedin, Eriksson will lift their game during the tourney, from their so far somewhat disappointing NHL-season.

Can't wait...
