Wtf kinda RHD issues does bear solve? 4th pair? He was bad in Edmonton, irrelevant in Carolina, yet he's supposed to make the Canucks because... reasons?

Guys. Do we remember how bad he was last year, after the initial games? There’s a reason they didn’t sign him.

Right now, we are seeing generational play from Quinn. That makes things look a lot better than they actually are. If they refuse to play Hronek in the position they traded for him to play, they need another very good dman to drive that second pairing instead, or they got no shot to win playoff rounds.

Obviously before they make a big move, they’ll have to split Hughes and Hronek up, to see what they actually have.

He can’t stick with a team. And he’s been on teams desparate for D as well as teams who are fairly stable with D.

The Canucks would have probably re-signed him if he didn't get injured at the World Championships. It's not like they didn't want him, they just didn't want to burn cap space on someone with an current injury.

Good to see him starting to get in game shape. Will be a nice addition if he can hit the ground running or without too much rust.

Depth D man...will sign for league min. He is definitely better than Noah Juulsen or Friedman imo. Definitely not a top 4 D but is solid for bottom pairing and sometimes can fill in for injuries. The more depth dmen we have, the better. Canucks can them sign a Tanev on TDL or Zadorov.

Hughes-Hronek
Cole-Tanev
Soucy-Myers/Bear/Friedman

That would definitely be a very solid D group assuming we trade Beauvillier to create cap space. The top 4 would be as solid as it would get and I would.consider that top 4 as cup caliber and the bottom pair looks very solid.

Have you seen Juulsen play? Cause if you did, you would be excited about Bear
Yeah I rather have Bear over Juulsen a million times over lol. Bear would sign a league min one year contract to see how he can play and earn his next contract. Don't think any team will sign Bear to a multi-year deal for now.

Bear was fine, even good, here last year.

A bottom pairing RHD for no assets but a roster spot and cap space seems like a no brainer. Not fitting on Carolina or Edmonton isn't an issue, he fit well here in a limited role.

Still trying to reconcile the "problem resolved" part with the "Ethan Bear to be signed" and how the two are related or connected.

he is decent depth. he is not problem solved by any means. He can play top 4 just fine for short spurts, but Canucks need an all situations RHD to replace Myers/Cole up there.
