Any argument for Kane is basically being made on the basis of one career season, and ignoring the 7 previous seasons where Toews was the better, more impactful player in every situation other than the PP, which is a system that runs through Kane.
By the end of his career, Kane may well be the better player and have put up more seasons as the better player, but he's got some catching up to do.
And I certainly don't see him catching Keith as far as sustained dominance at the position. Kane and Toews are closer to each other than either are to Keith.
Agree with this. Even with Kane having by far his best season and Toews having by far his worst, Kane still has some catching up to do if he wants to catch Toews as far as overall impact on the Blackhawks. I would have also went:
