Obviously some players will be up in Detroit (Veleno) or elsewhere, but I am excited with the new names. The D looks good plus they'll need a few forwards to fill out the roster.

From https://www.griffinshockey.com/news/griffins-roster-alumni-tracker-2022

"Starting with Grand Rapids' season-ending 2021-22 roster then adding new signees and other players from the Red Wings organization, here are the players who could play for the Griffins next season unless they make Detroit's roster, are assigned to the ECHL’s Toledo Walleye, return to Europe or junior, or are loaned to another team."

I don't follow GR at all, just what I read on HF...is this the lineup you expect them to use or the one you prefer?

I can understand Söderblom - Veleno - Berggren being in GR (though I think they're ready for bottom 6 duty in DET) / poor Veleno, victim of a #'s game/logjam!
Also would like to see Sebrango/McIsaac play over Lashoff.

This is what I expect because of the roster restrictions.

This UFA-bolstering at NHL will push these kids down to AHL. I was expecting some guys to be at NHL, but Yzerman changed everything.

13+8+2 NHL roster:

Bertuzzi - Larkin - Perron
Vrana - Copp - Raymond
Kubalik - Suter - Zadina
Erne - Rasmussen - Sundqvist
(Smith)

Fabbri - IR (does not count for roster spot)

Määttä - Seider
Chiarot - Hronek
Edvinsson - Lindström
--------------------
Walman - Oesterle

G Husso/G Nedeljkovic

So that's it. Fabbri is 14th forward, but injured at season start. No room for even Joe Veleno. Crazy! Of course, maybe Givani Smith could be waived and VEleno be up, but Veleno is still waiver free, so I think it goes this way at season start. Many things will change when season will go on, and then Veleno's and others will get their callups. But Fabbri becoming back to healthy has another push to keep kids on the farm.

Then with existing contracts it will fall in the farm system like this:

Söderblom - Veleno - Berggren
Hirose - Criscuolo - Shine
Luff - Czarnik - L'Esperance
Hanas - Andreasson - Tyutyayev
--------------------------
Lacroix - Spezia - Bliss

LD Johansson - RD Kampfer

Isn't Hanas going to be in Grand Rapids? He's already played 4 seasons in the WHL and he is 20.

Really liked this player in his draft year. I would consider signing him to fill one of the C spots in Grand Rapids.

As far as I can tell, Lashoff has not been re-signed yet.

Veleno needs to stay up. He has nothing more to gain in GR, IMO.
You don't think he'd gain anything in GR as the 1st line center playing 22 minutes a night in all situations? I think he could use the confidence and puck on stick time personally. If he doesn't get that type of deployment in Grand Rapids then I agree with you.
