Dan Snyder took that tactic - raising prices until he ran the home fans out of the stadium. Then a bunch of away fans went to the games because they weren't wise to how much of a trash deal it was. Then over the time the whole culture of the gameday experience was ruined.

It has to come to that….this is a market economy with a mix of capitalism and socialism. Supply and demand set prices ultimately. As long as there are fans willing to pay….not much you can do but vote with your wallet.

When the product slips (and it is), you see the prices adjust. You’re seeing the team run specials again as interest wanes.

Yeah I agree the gameday experience itself is not bad (As opposed to Fedex field which is a disaster). I went to the Predators game and had fun. It was a good vibe.

Certainly all the billionaires are doing it - raising prices unreasonably, because they can. And there's nothing you can do about it. But that doesn't justify it. It just means he's in a club of butthead billionaires who are all hiding behind each other. "They're all doing it" can be used to justify, well, anything now really, eh? No limits.

I think fans should have better principles than that. We should be saying "Hey, give us a good product at a reasonable price."

“Free Markets” and all. Any of us could buy the franchise and make it what we think it should be, right?

Now obviously that’s was tongue in cheek hyperbole, but in the truest sense of it all, Ted always produces a max payroll, usually plus LTIR output. That’s a good 10-20mil a year some teams don’t spend. So maybe those teams have a cheaper in game experience, however — they generally don’t win as much, either.
