In 1934, the Montreal Canadiens made a deal with the Red Wings of Detroit. It wasn't your normal deal, as Detroit sent Montreal 4 free goals in exchange for 5 future goals at any given time.

Montreal accepted, but their GM Marc Pergevin used the 4 free goals against Detroit in a game they were losing 7-1 with only 15 seconds left.

When Pergevin was asked "why?" He responded with " uhhh we wanted it to seem like the game was closer than it was"

Now, 90 years later Detroit is using their 5 goals to go up 6-3.

People always get hyped when we're eliminated and the scapegoats start putting points up. Then September comes and it's "well it's only training camp". Then December comes and they're like "literally murder this player! his entire family too!". Then April comes and the cycle continues.

What forum are you posting on/reading?

Can't say I've seen this cycle around here... This post has heavy"old man yelling at tree" vibes lol
