Habs currently wrapping up a 4-game road trip that began on Feb. 29th against the mighty Florida Panthers.

They lost to the Panthers 4-3 in shootout. Last Saturday, they faced the Bolts, and again posted a shootout loss 4-3. And this week on March 5th, they prevailed over the Preds in OT, 4-3. That's points in each of those games, for a total of 4 against supposedly tough opponents.

The win against the Preds was particularly interesting. The Preds were on an 8-game unbeaten streak coming into the game, they were starting Saros while MSL had designated the Tank Commander as his acting goalie.

Habs overcame a 2-goal deficit to tie the game thanks to two rapid markers, the second of which was a stunning stanchion deflection on a clearing shot from David Savard from his own zone. The puck's path completely took Saros by surprise, giving rise to an epic photo.

So what happened to the Habs having to face the toughest opposition of any team over the remainder of the schedule? Are these teams underestimating them? Or are the Habs being so carefree that they're playing with no pressure at all? MSL teachings sinking in, perhaps? Whatever it is, it's working.

Which brings us to tonight's adversary, the Canes, and our old friend KK. How's that offensive production coming along? Your facial mole? Your skating?

All of this is going on while in the backdrop, Kent Hughes is quietly doing his thing in anticipation of the trading deadline on Friday. Dominos have begun falling however, Hughes remains undaunted.

What's Hughes really up to? Probably something like this, but much more subdued. And no, he doesn't really want to trade David Savard but you know the drill ...

The fact of the matter is that Hughes has already sold off his most marketable asset in Monahan and moved him over a month ago.

Not surprisingly, Habs fans have been left wondering if there could be more even if, let's face it, there isn't all that much to sell. Since then, some fans have died of boredom and others have resorted to excess napping, while desperately hoping for something more to happen ...

Hughes' potential targets may not exactly square with what most fans think he might be looking into. Thus, we have asked a sleep expert to get to the bottom of it since our efforts to hack his phone have proven to be unsuccessful.

Hughes in another dream, is content enough to carry everything forward to the summer except for this one outlandish scenario ...

In typical Hughes fashion, he continues to play his cards close to the vest. He's probably laughing at all the drama and time Habs fans are pouring into their fake trades, while he lets his sharky stylings make headway with his counterparts.

And now, a public service announcement. Beware of this man. Do not cross him as there could be lethal consequences. He is the second coming of Francis Bouillon! Consider yourselves warned. :sarcasm:

I wonder we'll have anyone sat tonight for "trade related reasons".

Did we have anyone sat last trade deadline week?

Nobody is "for trade" on the Habs outside maybe a goalie and they are already sitting most games.

And no, nobody was sat last year, Habs only moved Dadonov. Chiarot missed like one game and was traded the next day the year before that.

Slaf and Newhook took therapy days yesterday so not sure what's going on with them. Slaf though as taken a few therapy days lately and been missing practice apparently so he's obviously dealing with something.

Maybe it's something that he can't hurt more by playing but why even play him while he's banged up.
