Habs headed to Pittsburgh for the second leg of back to back games.

In a loss to the Sabres, we saw Arber Xhekaj score a goal as well as play a punishing, physical game as several opposition players found out.

Xhekaj's performance did not go unnoticed on the Habs' head coach. MSL went as far as saying that it was Xhekaj's most complete game of the season.

Here's your cheesy special effects gif, Arber.

Captain Nick said that it was probably Xhekaj's best game of his career, where he did it all -- made plays, used his shot, cleared the net area.

It was Arber's 2nd goal is as many games, a rocket from an unfavorable angle that hit the top shelf.

And he didn't even need to serve his trademark knuckle sandwiches for the occasion.

Arber logged in 18:52 of TOI, his 2nd longest of the season. You'd have to go back to October for the highest figure. Let's hope he keeps this up.

Losing to the Sabres only means one thing -- guess it was one of those nights.

Great gdt @Runner77 I'm expecting a loss as our record on b2b's is abysmal so we will probably win.
0.100, it's good for the 32nd position this season, equal to the Flames, but the Flames only had 5 b2b, Habs had 10 so far...
They are also 31st in goal against per game during those.
30th in goal for per game...
and their powerplay is at a whooping 6.3% during b2b.

Their poor result in b2b point to issues with pre-game/player preparation. The team has no energy or no gameplan...or both.

Awesome, had not seen there was a game today you cheered me up! Hopefully Sid just falls in love with the kids and pre-signs his ufa contract tonight with the habs. And a knuckle sandwich from X to anyone I don’t really care.

Maybe Slaf took his no-point 3 penalty night personally and goes beast mode.

Caufield can’t play the left boards, none of the quick-dish to him leftwards on Suzuki’s zone entries or him trying to deke and go deep have worked for him since I can remember. I even wonder if they maybe sit him tonight, did not look comfortable prob injured. I also don’t know why he’s on pp1 if playing below the goal line.

We lost calisse! Heard my dad use that word many times 😁

CC took 3 therapy days in a row and MSl wasn't even sure if he would be able to play last night game. He clearly shouldn't have been playing...
He is getting worked over alot near the net. It needs to be addressed.

The Habs are 1-9 on the 2nd game of back to backs this season

:teach:

Bodes well for the tank.

Primo or Allen?

Primeau gets the start and will be the only change in the line-up.

Is it the Sheriff or Wifi? we need to know

Xhekaj has said he was never really a fan the Wifi nickname and has always preferred Sheriff (had that nickname since the juniors). And now everyone has stopped calling him Wifi.
