he is a 23yo rookie, dont forget. he is not yet to 50 NHL games. i see him if keeps developing as he has as a solid middle pair. him and durzi as middle pair for years, need to get a top D to go with moser.

Dude, he's 24...I know it's still young, but 24 is D+6 years. If he wants to stick in the NHL, he needs to bring this every night. Not once every 4 or 5 games.

He was excellent last night. Yes it would be great if he could do that every game. But that would warrant him playing big minutes.
He's already NHL quality without bringing consistent performances like last night.

But he's not NHL quality...which is why most nights he gets around 14 min TOI and arguably one of our worst defenders.

I simply don't agree. He makes mistakes but overall has a positive impact. He's minus 1 on the season, after this horrendous losing streak. Same as Durzi.

What the heck was Schmaltz doing behind the goal line though? The free forward should go to the net for a pass or rebound or deflection. Can't be much help behind the goal line.

my bad he just turned 24 geez dude. what are watching he had a game where he was best guy on team that doesnt mean he sucks every other game. he has been most solid D (outside moser) for last 20/30 games.
