Big Game Story: The Minnesota Wild and Los Angeles Kings play the second of three games. Jonathan Quick made 27 saves, and two in the shootout, in the Kings' 3-2 win against the Wild on Oct. 3. The Wild play the next two games and three of the next four on the road, a stretch that got harder when captain Mikko Koivu had surgery Monday morning to repair a broken ankle sustained Saturday against the Washington Capitals. Bolstered by the return of Quick, the Kings play the second of a five-game homestand after ending a five-game winless streak Saturday against the Vancouver Canucks. Before Quick's 27 saves sparked the Kings to victory, they had allowed at least three goals in four of their prior five games. GO KINGS GO !!!

NOTE : Regarding LARGE SIZE IMAGES / YELLOW RE-SIZE IMAGE BARS ABOVE PICS, let me offer up one nice little suggestion ...
This will get rid of those pesky yellow resize bars over the top of some larger pictures ... as they annoy the hell out of me and maybe they do you also ?
- Go into/click on your "USER CP" {control Panel} up top left in the red bars
- on the left under 'Settings & Options' click on "Edit Options"
- scroll down to 'Thread Display Options', and then 'Please Select the Resize Mode'
- click on the 'Drop Down List Box' over on the Right of 'Please Select the Resize Mode'
- select it to "KEEP ORIGINAL SIZE"
- SAVE your selections !
There ... now don't that look MUCH BETTER

With Quick back, there's no reason why we can't go on a winning streak.

As long as Amart is in, we should win.

I hope so, I like AMart; I wonder if Greene's back in tonight...

Line rushes: 74-11-77, 23-28-14, 21-10-73, 13-22-71, 70-24; 6-8, 33-26, 44-27, 2. Greene took his rushes w/ Martinez, Regehr.

I really want Amart in. He's better than Greene and RR for this team.

Frattin is a RW, Toffoli is a RW. This is getting annoying.

Anyway you cut it there is going to a RW or Center playing LW. If they insert Fraser back in, then Lewis moves to LW.

Kings desperately need Pearson to step up for trade for a 3rd line LW.

This game could get ugly, and by ugly I mean Minnesota just standing back and clogging up the middle of the ice for 60 minutes. They are a depleted squad with injuries to two of their top forwards.

Wild lineup for tonight:
Heatley-Coyle-Pominville
Niederreiter-Granlund-Zucker
Cooke-Haula-Fontaine
Veilleux-Brodziak-Mitchell

Suter-Brodin
Scandella-Prosser
Stoner-Ballard

Darcy Kuemper gets the start in net for the Wild, and we all know how the Kings tend to perform against backups and third string goalies.

No Koivu, Parise = Kings lose 2-1 with the GWG coming in the last 15 seconds.

I think if the Kings score in the first five minutes, they cruise to a relatively easy victory, with some moments of "that was harder than it should have been."

If, on the other hand, the Kings are still not on the board at 5:00 of the first, I think that will get into their heads, and from there who knows if it'll be an SOL or just a plain old collapse.

ETA: Yes, I know, I'm Eeyore. But it makes it feel that much sweeter when they make me look like an idiot :)

It's obvious isn't it? If Martinez dresses, Kings win hands down. If he doesn't dress kings need to pray for a 1-0 victory.

I think it's super important for the Kings to score first, otherwise we lose to a team that needs to play a boring road game and still has enough talent and youthful energy to pot a goal or two.
