Excellent question. I think the thing is he always carries the puck around and gets cornered and loses it. If he could pass it faster and let the puck do the work, he would probably do better.

I woud be curious how anyone could watch Rossi play and not want him to be part of the future here. He's not flashy but he's so reliable, you can trust him in any zone and any situation to do the little things right. Like Ek was a couple years ago. Simple effective hockey, but he shows more offensive chops than Ek did at the same age.

I give him a lot of shit, and he deserves most of it, but I have to believe he's not that dumb, and the buyouts will be gone when Rossi needs a new contract.

If he was a faster skater that would unlock a much more dynamic side to him. I mean if he could beat guys with speed he might be a legit line driver.
