Speculation: Freddy Andersens worth in trade?

The market for teams acquiring goalies has gotten considerably thinner.

He was one of our big trade chips (maybe the largest). Unless its a trade scenario, is this going to happen? Curious as to what others think.

I was talking from the perspective of teams wanting or needing a goalie.

The only team that seems to need a reliable starter at this point is Carolina. With no viable starters left in FA, Anderson could have pretty decent value at the moment.

I’d try and dangle Anderson + for Pesce if Weegar isn’t an option.

The goalie carousel has largely played itself out.

Can't really see us moving Anderson, as we wouldn't really have any alternatives left to bring in ourself, aside from maybe trading for Keumper. Kuemper would be worth decently more in trade than what we'd get for Anderson, so we'd have to be fine with losing assets overall to do that (granted, we would gain capspace).

Just funny for all this trade talk for Andersen. Who would we get that is equal or better? If we had two more Brodie's, then you could risk having a goaltender that is not as good as Andersen.

I can't see trading Andersen right now and we come out ahead realistically.

He is better than or equal to Markstrom and currently has a cheaper contract. Im not pissed that Andersen is back.

However...

I was expecting Andersen to get traded for a late 1st and then getting Fleury with retention.

Or an Andersen Keumper swap

Looks like he is staying for next season for sure. If you trade him, who you gonna replace him with now? All the good goalies are gone. It's a lot simpler to just stick with him. Good job, Dubas, on that. People that were saying that Leafs were souring on him were talking out of their ass.
