Fine by me. I'm almost glad the Jackets are so red hot. I think they won't sustain it through the playoffs. Hopefully they hit a lull right after they play the Pens and get ready to play us after a Flyers sweep of the Caps.:sarcasm:

Yep, in a situation where Columbus would play Jersey or Florida once or twice more each, you'd definitely just want them to win out.

Even just that win over Florida accounted for something like a 10% drop in their playoff odds.

What team has high top end talent with lack of depth, shitty special teams and wildly inconsistent goaltending?:naughty:

Looking at the Schedules a bit closer, I can totally see Florida winning 7 of 9. Their schedule is an absolute joke.

If they win 7 of 9, they are at 97 points and likely past us in ROW as well. Im gonna go ahead and say they are in.

It will come down to us and NJ.

We will need to win at least 3 of 6.

If we do that, NJ will need to win 5 of 7 to pass us.

It feels like a coinflip to me at this point.

I think they sputter out soon enough. Almost dropped one to a bad team recently. Slowed down a little bit. I’m thinking they miss the playoffs.

There are High School Hockey teams with tougher schedules though

They play 5 games against teams that are higher than them in the playoffs.

3 vs Boston
1 vs Leafs
1 vs Preds

I don't think that's easy.

The other 4 are gimmes and those 3 playoff teams might be resting players in the last week

Playing Boston 3 Times is the X factor. The race for the top in the Atlantic is as close as it gets. The loser gets Toronto. The winner likely gets the devils. Motivation for both teams.

Thats a good point. Feels wrong to have to cheer for Boston 3 more times this season.

I know right. And what makes it even worse is that they gradually bring up their young players just like we all want to happen in here.

Theyve expedited their young players if anything. They wouldnt have turned it around nearly as quickly with Hextall and Haktards mindset.

Flordia has a tuff schdule 5 of the 7 against top of the league teams, the rest are fairly close schedule wise.

Most of their young players are 1-2 years older than our players in LHV, except for their high draft picks.
So basically we're on the same schedule, but a year behind.
We're starting 5 players 21 years old or younger, two 23 year olds (Hagg, Laughton), 24 (Ghost), 25 (Couts).
Next year we'll probably be playing NAK (22), Vorobyev (22), Frost (20), Myers (22), Morin (23).

By my count the Magic Number against the Devils is 12 points gained by Flyers/Lost by Devils and against the Panthers it's 13?

Devils have 7 games left and can finish with 100 Points. Flyers have 6 games left and can finish with 101.
Panthers have 8 games left and can finish with 101 Points. Flyers have 6 games left and can finish with 101.
