I'll admit there are plenty of really good prospects that just didn't pan out...but Svechnikovs talent far exceeds either of Tkachuk or Wahlstroms. He's got size, great hands and can skate. His shot is easily NHL caliber.

I just like their games more, and i see them both having the chance at being better NHLers than Svechnikov. Just my feeling.

Your opinion is as good as mine.

I get to watch Svechnikov live twice a week and he's been just as fun as Ekblad or Scheifele here...so I may be biased. But his skillset is definitely superior to Tkachuks (who's also just days out of last years draft) or Wahlstroms . And that shot....quick release, hard and accurate.

Back to reality...we're not drafting any of them.

If it is, then that's just stupid. If you have the 1st overall, you go and get the best player in the draft, period(Unless you're New Jersey, in which case, you pass on him so the Flyers can grab him).

Svechnikov is the clear #1, for me.

The have made the playoffs the last 6 years and their worst season was 99 points. We NEED to hope them miss it this year and grab that pick. They had a lot of injuries to good players and will be back in the playoffs next year.

Stranger things have happened. Everyone thought VGK would be at the bottom and NYR would be at the top this season and look what's going on there. Certainly not a guarantee but next year is unprotected and we pick up an additional pick. Not like I'm pulling for them to get a top pick so they punt but it sure is tempting!
