Actually, considering I have zero faith we will win the Stanley Cup this season, I actually think I would gain more enjoyment from seeing the main board meltdown when Karlsson wins another Norris this year, than I would from the Senators making the playoffs and flaming out in the first round.

It's sort of an utility calculation. If I can only choose one, I want to see the heads of the fans of other teams implode because of Karlsson more than I want to see us make the playoffs and do nothing.
