I don't really think he has.

This was suppose to be the year he would be unshackled because of Chara's absence. But I haven't seen that much improvement, even from his rookie year. Needs to make better decisions, much like most 23 year-old defensemen in the NHL.
He is a number one defencemen, just not an elite number one defencemen. He was supposed to be unleashed offensivily with Krug leaving, but that didn't happen either.

Marchand, McAvoy, and Rask dragged the team to a point the Bruins could buy for Hall at the deadline. Since then it has been a much better team effort, still led by Marchand.
Ya , I thought McAvoy was great early on/maybe midway through. Since then solid just not spectacular which is what you’d expect from a guy his age.

Marchand has been top 3 in the league all season. Won’t get the mentions McDavid or Matthews do because of the market. But he’s clearly been their best player.
