Carolina fans are sure angry over the Gio hit. I get it, Aho is one of if not your best player, but the hit wasn't dirty. The headshot argument I can see only cause Aho is so tiny in comparison and looks to get a piece of his chin (doesn't mean it's a headshot), but wtf is this kneeing non sense. When Gio makes contact with the knee he makes contact at an angle that a knee can't bend, meaning he can't "throw" it to injure someone. And I don't want to victim blame, but Aho can't skate into the center of the ice at the hash marks against 2 NHL d-men with his head down, looking at the puck which is behind him, and expect not to get obliterated.

In another era, that would have career shortening contact.
You can't do that; but I understand why they're angry.

Hrivik has had a really strong game. Whole 4th line has actually.

It's been so long since the Flames have had a solid #1 Goalie I'd almost forgotten what it looks like. Smith has been an absolute god send for this team.

I don’t care to argue with Canes fans about the hit, I like their fan base and it sucks for them they lost Aho, hopefully he’s okay. But the main point of contact was Aho’s chest and that was deliberate on the part of Gio. I have no issues with the hit.
