I personally don't want the Flames get screwed this badly.
(This is coming from a Canucks fan)

That’s a great f***ing offer.

Eichel, Gaudreau, and Lindholm has the makings of a really nice forward group.

I wonder if there are conditions on the picks depending on how the surgery goes, plus is Buffalo retaining any salary

So Flames pack it in for the year even though they are on fire?

Eichel still needs surgery and will not play this season

Dunno why a Calgary pacing for playoffs would potentially throw away season for a player who may/may not play in the year (I'm not sure the timeline on his preferred surgery)
But also, there's absolutely no way this was offered or it would have been taken. Unless the Vegas deal is equally f***ing absurd and they can't choose.

This is how you lose credibility in an instant. This is the most bogus ‘insider’ leak ever. You wouldn’t trade Tkachuk straight up for Eichel, let alone toss in a bunch more lol. What a joke. You’re an idiot Weekes

Yeah trade would be done. I'd bet the issue is figuring out contingencies if Eichel can no longer play after his surgery, or how long he plays. It's a complicated trade.

I imagine this is the wrench in the whole thing.

Other teams probably want the trade to be conditional pick heavy based on Eichel's health/performance, which is understandable.

These trades don't get leaked like that. Nobody knows what it's going to be.

If that really is the offer, have to wonder if the holdup is purely involving a 3rd team regarding Tkachuk.

Otherwise, sweet newborn baby Jesus, that's a much better offer than most have been expecting.

Replace Matt with Monahan. Trading Matthew would set this franchise back 10 years. If you want Eichel, you want him and Matt on the same line together. They would gel.
