Grabovsky has received no offers. Surprising, as he is clearly the second best center available, and Stastny is going to cost 8m+.

Vanek has received a ton of interest, including offers in the high 7-low 8 range from 5-6 teams. He'd like to get into the 8.5 range from a contender on a 7 year contract, but would be open to bigger deals from re-building teams, or smaller deals with great situations (i.e. playing with premier players).

Vaneks got three good offers. Contender offering 7*7.5 and an elite center. Playoff team with upside in at 7 yrs. 7.9, bubble team at 7*8.6.

Currently id say the 8.6 is in the lead.

If you want in on Vanek, send me an offer competitive to these tonight, as we would like to narrow down the finalist by tomorrow for quick nwgotiation. I am in england so my negotiating hours are a bit unusual.

I'm home and available for negotiations. All PMs will get a reply in the next 15-20 here, most big names will sign by 5PM PST so if you are interested in any of:

Dan Boyle - Don't come with anything less then 2-3 years at $5M at this point
Andrei Markov - Offers are up to 5.5M+
Matt Niskanen - Down to three teams, at 6-7.25M per season
Mark Fayne - 4-4.5M per will be needed to land Fayne.

I suggest getting an offer in ASAP.

Renaud Lavoie : Young defenseman Nathan Beaulieu might be the only person in Montreal not happy about the signing of veteran defenseman Andrei Markov. With the acquisition of David Rundblad who is on a one-way contract, Beaulieu is once again the odd man out and will have to start the season in the AHL. Unhappy about the situation, sources told me that Beaulieu has asked for a trade.

EDIT : Would trade Beaulieu for a younger D prospect who is not NHL ready. Could also consider a F prospect.

TRADE ANNOUNCEMENT

:pens :jets

The Winnipeg Jets have acquired forward Kris Versteeg and prospect Jean-Sébastien Dea from the Pittsburgh Penguins, in exchange, the Pens received forward Eric Tangradi and a 2nd round pick in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft.

''With the depth of our prospects pool, we had the versatility to move a high pick to add talent on our NHL roster. Kris is a very solid proven top 9 winger, we get him on a solid contract as well. He's a guy that will add skills and offense to our top 9, while playing a decent two-way game and PK abilities. Kris in also a Stanley Cup winner, he'll add solid experiance to our team''.

''We are pretty high on Jean-Sébastien as a prospect. He's a very skilled guy, great accurate wrister, witth very good hockey IQ, vision, hands and speed. He's a guy with top 6 upside, we'll work with him to help him reach his potential. He's a guy woho wasn't Drafted, but never stop working and sign an NHL ELC contract after a great training camp in Pittsburgh. We like his work-ethic and character, we are very happy to add him in our organisation. Good luck to Eric in Pittsburgh''.

Thanks to Silas Robertson for the smooth negotiations.

The youth movement continues in Detroit. Anthony Mantha, Ryan Sproul and Mitch Callahan have been recalled and will be given oppportunities to prove they are ready for the show. Yougnsters like Gustav Nyquist, Tomas Jurco and Danny DeKeyser will take on bigger roles and should be key in our success. The addition of young veterans Mike Richards, Nikita Nikitin and Kevin Shattenkirk is another step in this direction and will help us a lot going forward. We feel this transition was needed, and this makes us a better team now and in the future.
