Geez look at Sweden at it again stealing other countries players :sarcasm:

And athletes (in athletics)... countless of athletes....

They have done this since early/mid 90's in sports...

Athletics, football, hockey, winter sports, summer sports...

This is not diss towards Swedes/Sweden, its just what they have done lots in the past & present,
sure, we Finn's have done it too, but very rarely.

Too many to list, really.

They have bought distance runners and other athletes from African countries,
olympic gold medalist, world record level atheletes, especially from Ethiopia.
-and arabic countries as well

Some athletes have joined representing Sweden via marriages
like from Russia and Estonia and African countries

BTW. its super easy to get Swedish nationality.
-at least it was, not sure have they changed their laws/rules or anything

Cajuste + Alexander Isak (Eritrea), Robin Quaison (Ghana), Dejan Kulusevski (FYR Macedonia), Zlatan Ibrahimovic (Bosnia/Croatia), Ken Sema (Congo), Isaac Thelin (Congo), ... and that´s only footballers from national team

And back to Ryder Ritchie he is promising but I would say he is tier below than the best Canadian kids (Celebrini, Gavin). But who knows Ritchie definitely needs to play more hockey this season.

What about Jens Cajuste?
Born in Sweden to a Swedish mom, where he lived until he was 5, then moved back 5 years later.

Cajuste + Alexander Isak (Eritrea), Robin Quaison (Ghana), Dejan Kulusevski (FYR Macedonia), Zlatan Ibrahimovic (Bosnia/Croatia), Ken Sema (Congo), Isaac Thelin (Congo), ... and that´s only footballers from national team

Everybody you've listed were born and raised in Sweden, some had a Swedish parent, some had not.

As for Ryder, his mother is Swedish, and he has lived at times in Sweden(heck, his home town given in the CSSHL website is Övik). Byron spoke years past about needing to learn more Swedish as
Ryder's mother spoke to Ryder in Swedish.

But all those players you listed are born and raised in Sweden and speaks fluent swedish. We did not steal these players from anyone. Sweden is multicultural country.

There is players with foreign roots in almost all fotball national teams.

Ryder Ritchie have a swedish mother, speaks fluent swedish and spend years of his life in Sweden. Nobody forces him to be on this camp.

Still no reply from any of you.

Lets take a look at Swedish wjc team:

Målvakter:

1. Jesper Wallstedt, Luleå HF
30. Calle Clang, Rögle BK
35. Jesper Vikman , Vancouver Giants (Kanada)

Backar:

3. Helge Grans, Ontario Reign (USA)
4. Emil Andrae, HV71
5. Anton Olsson, Malmö Redhawks
6. Måns Forsfjäll, Skellefteå AIK
7. Simon Edvinsson, Frölunda HC
8. Leo Lööf, Ilves (Finland)
12. Victor Sjöholm, HV71
26. Joel Nyström, Färjestads BK

Forwards:

9. Daniel Ljungman, Linköping HC
10. Alexander Holtz, Utica Comets/New Jersey Devils
11. Fabian Lysell, Vancouver Giants (Kanada)
15. Åke Stakkestad, BIK Karlskoga
17. William Eklund, Djurgårdens IF
18. Zion Nybeck, HV71
19. Elias Stenman, Skellefteå
20. Albert Sjöberg, Södertälje SK
21. Oskar Olausson, Barrie Colts (Kanada)
23. Isak Rosén, Leksands IF
24. Elliot Ekmark, Linköping HC
27. Theodor Niederbach, Frölunda HC
28. Oskar Magnusson, AIK
29. Daniel Torgersson, AIK/Frölunda

Who is not swedish in this team? Andrae, Stakestad and Niderbach dont sound swedish but all 3 are born and raised in Sweden and speaks fluent swedish. You cant compare this with for exemple Viktor Svedberg who cant speak Kazak and at age 30 becoming a member of Kazaksthan NT.

Slovakian WJC team:

Matej Marinov has French and Russian roots.

Muklyhka has ukrainian roots.

Stumpel is born and raised in USA.

Finland WJC team:

Rafkin has russian roots.

Lambert has Canadian roots.

This is just exemple. I could name maaany senior "slovak" and "finland" players who have roots from other countries.

Your question was : But which hockey players and soccer players did we steal?

So I listed many soccer players I didn´t write nothing about hockey. So please don´t use sentence "in Hockey" now when you yourself asked for soccer too. And this should be thread about Ryder Ritchie.

But none of those soccer players are "stolen" when all of them are born and raised in Sweden and speaks fluent swedish. If they are not considered swedish then Pogba, Mpabbe etc are not french with the same logic.

But ok. We put an end for this now.

I think this guy is very good. Very good shot, skilled, has hockey sense. Big offensive potential.

He’s not the biggest and skating can improve, but I liked what I saw from him. Has a good chance to be an early round pick in 2024.

He’s done alright recently. But gosh it makes me mad, another son of a NHL’er. Hockey has become nothing but nepotism. The sons of NHLers who have access to all the academies and special training and special connections . Ryder is a spoiled brat. Can’t help but root against him and hope he gets knocked out. Those spoiled kids need some adversity.
