Historically it seems like the CHL Import Draft happens on the Wednesday following the NHL Entry Draft. Last year's import draft was on a Tuesday but most likely only because Canada Day was the next day.

That puts this year's import draft on June 29.

Is their a list of the top 50 Euro's for the draft. It would be nice to have info on the draftees.

Little to no info is available prior to the draft. Mostly back door/behind the scenes deals done with either top NHL prospects or unknown euros.

Eeli Tolvanen says he hasn't visited any colleges yet and mentions upcoming CHL Draft as a possibility for next season.

Would be taken near the top of the draft if true.

Had high hopes of a high end player coming to Guelph with the number 2 pick, but I heard from a friend in the Scouting business that there are huge amounts of money that are thrown at the top prospects to report to a certain team, which in turn they tell other teams they are not going to come to the CHL. Hopefully there are some really skilled players that are not falling into that category that Guelph will pick. This could be a huge boost to the rebuild happening here. Usual suspects that are rumoured to be throwing the cash around. Seems to be an area that is a little harder to control from the league i would think in terms of money changing hands. Time will tell...

Since your friend is in the business as you say, are these teams CHL? Why doesn't he come forward with this information in public, it really seem odd for him to keep media silence for not wanting to expose these money flashing teams unless he's benefiting from that money as well !

Where's Eeli Tolvanen, Aapeli Räsänen,Janne Kuokkanen and Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen in that list.
Those guys were Finland's best players in U18 WJC's and they should be considered to CHLers.

And Henrik Borgström isn't coming to CHL he's already committed to play Denver University NCAA hockey team next season ( 2016-2017)
Also Kasper Björkqvist has committed to go NCAA he isn't coming to CHL either.

He is a scout for an NHL team. He has no affiliation with any chl team, so in other words it is none of his business what happens in OHL. And yes these are CHL teams offering the money.

Alright then, since he's your friend, why don't you make it public, cause what you are saying about all these money flashing teams is all about nothing unless concrete evidences. I am not saying it isn't serious accusation, but without any thing to back it up it has little meaning or worthiness.

Saginaw has an open early pick however l would think those guys you mentioned would look good in a Saginaw jersey.

Funny, I make a comment about Hoping Guelph gets a good player because of the crap that goes on behind the scenes. And you get your panties in a bunch as if i have personally accused you of something. If you are that naive to think that stuff does not go on behind the scenes, you need to step out into the real world... or relax a little!
The comment made to me was to not get my hopes up for certain players as money had already spoke for them. If i give anything away more then that i am throwing somebody under the bus... And I am pretty sure the league knows stuff happens like this. Whether they choose not to acknowledge or they have no way of proving is a different matter.

Chill out!

Yeah I think it's pretty well known that what you've described is not unusual at all. Players make deals with a certain team and tell everyone else not to pick up them. That's why it's considered a "selection" and not a true draft.

Actually Aapeli Räsänen is coming to North America.
He'll play in USHL's Sioux City Musketeers next season ( 2016-2017).
Räsänen was Sioux City's 7th round pick in USHL entry draft in may.
