That's a nice solution for everyone concerned. A team with hardly any fans and hardly any chance of competing over the term of this contract signs this dude to calm down the anger among players and agents that no-one is signing free agents at inflated terms anymore.

Weird decision for the Padres considering they had Myers at 1B, but Hosmer is better. Wonder what they do with Wil.

Myers made his bones in LF.

Its obviously a lot of money for Hosmer but what else were you expecting? Free Agents ALWAYS get more than their worth. Good deal for him, he's already got his ring and now he's got his future sorted away with this contract. Gets to play in beautiful San Diego as well.

Oh right. I forgot he puts those numbers up consistently and doesn't alternate from a good player to a terrible player every other year.
