I believe the Islanders traded Beck last year at the deadline

Not sure what to think here. Beck has been elite in the AHL. Fontaine hasn't been horrid, but just not nearly as good as Beck point wise.

So is the thought Fontaine can play in the NHL for us?

630 CHED in Edmonton said they're looking into this, although they can't confirm it.

Can't really argue with Friedman though.

I know nothing about Beck. Forward/D?

He's a winger, decent AHL numbers but hasn't stuck beyond a handful of games in the NHL. Isles trade him last deadline for the illustrious Marc-Andre Cliche.

EDIT: forgot he played most of 2014-15 in Nashville. 62 GP, 8-8-16.

Let's see he played a couple years for Nashville, then Toronto traded for him in the off season who then traded him to the Islanders before the season started, who then traded him to Colorado I believe at the deadline last year. Edmonton signed him this summer(or was he traded there?) and now traded him to the Rangers.

This is the kind of trade you make when youre the Oilers and want some wing depth but you have no money because of bonuses and you gave it all to Fayne and Pouliot.

You roll the dice on Fontaine and Desharnais and hope they can do something for your bottom 6.
