Talbot wins his first 5 starts, boasting the highest Save % after 6 games. Everything is looking bright, people are dancing and prancing.
Then he gets injured, along with McDavid against a team such as Anahiem or LA. Typical Oiler ****. We rely on Scrivy and Goaltender rookies again to carry us.
Austin Matthews with Connor McDavid, lol

Not a popular viewpoint, but I get it. It's always easy to predict the worst possible outcome with this team.

Hey guys Ranger fan here that's followed Cam since his days in the AHL.

You guys got a really good one. Calm, composed, very good puckhandler, excellent rebound control and stays square to the shooter.

Sure the Rangers have a stacked defense, but those numbers you see are really well earned. He's stolen some games.

I will say this though, if you have a couple of defensemen that can move the puck out quickly, you have a real asset in Cam because of how well he handles the puck.... he was much better than Lundqvist in that department, and prevents teams from establishing zone time but moving dump-ins out quickly.

You guys got a steal... FLA offered the Rangers Hayes, 2,3,5 and they passed on it because they didn't want him in the conference... that's how highly they think of Cam.

If you score 3 goals in a game, you have a good chance of winning with this guy.

Thanks for the post. I'm really looking forward to watching Talbot.

Re: the bolded - sounds like the opposite of Scrivens, who is a complete tire fire handling the puck.

Talbot definitely has the mindset to be a starter. Very hard worker and he is driven. Add in his skill and work ethic and he is a good candidate to be a starter

should be fun seeing him play behind out bad defence and how his numbers falll

Still can't be any worse than Scrivens or Fasth. If Dubnyk can put up a .920 sv% under a real coach with a d group consisting of Ryan Whitney, Mark Fistric, and Corey Potter then Im confident enough that Talbot will do just fine under this coaching staff and D group.

Would have liked to see him try the new Kenesky gear on the market. It's a lb lighter and looks amazing. Johnny Bower posed with some pads last week.

Is Talbot gonna be the full time starter?

Unless he falters, yeah he should get the outright starter spot. Scrivens and Nilsson will battle for the back up role and I wouldn't be surprised if Nilsson won it. Has size, is a great athlete, and put up really good KHL numbers. His WC numbers weren't good, but Enroths were even worse than his. Either way its up in the air, Scrivens has been a good backup in the past and could rebound if he tightens up on all those weak goals on a nightly basis he was susceptible last year.
