Apparently Cammalleri was fitting into the role they wanted for him ...so they flipped him for a guy that would. Jokinen was a no risk good gamble to take that failed awfully. Hopefully Cammalleri still has something to offer. IMO this guy would be the perfect mentor for Cagguila..he should be soaking in everything he can from MCUh, why did LA agree to this? Cammalleri had 7 points in 14 games, while Jokinen was absolute trash and only scored 1 assist for his 14 games...
Exactly. Too bad for everyone involved but Cammy helps fill some needs and may be a good spark.Yep. We thought he would fit anywhere but instead fit nowhere
According to Jon Rosens latest article (LA Kings Insider) Michael Cammalleri wanted out of LA because he was unhappy with the ice time he was getting.
He wasn't good enough for a top 6 role with the Kings and was scratched multiple times this season. Small, one dimensional players are not gonna work for the bottom six of a big Kings team.
2008 the Oilers tried to acquire him from the KingsMust be something else to it. Is Cammalleri related to Edmonton since earlier somehow?
He's not 5'8, 170lbs, and he's a versatile forward than can play all 3 forward positions. Something Cammalleri was unable to do. Jokinen was not brought in for scoring, he was brought in for stability for the bottom six. Also Jokinen has great face off numbers. So how exactly does Jokinen fit any better into Kings bottom six in that case?
yeah, it was a good low-risk gamble at the timeRemember when Oilers fans were thrilled they signed the better JJ. Funny how that worked out.
Kassian is a brain dead goon so no.Talbot, Maroon, Kassian?
It's not really lateral though, Jokinen looks like he doesn't even belong in the league anymore while Cammalleri can at least still score at a decent enough rate. Not a big win but it fills a need for the Oilers with his one shot scoring ability especially on the PP, don't expect anything from him at even strength.
Scrivens isn't even an NHLer, so yesKassian is a brain dead goon so no.
Jokinen has amazing fancy stats and an awful PDO. Cam has mediocre fancy stats and a high PDO, also collected more than half of his points in one game. This is not the lopsided trade that people are trying to make it out to be.
if you watched the games, Jokinen can't skate anymore and never had a legit scoring chance all seasonJokinen has amazing fancy stats and an awful PDO.
