Hell baby
Welp, time to show up

At the end of the day Rask + the D should have them in the series no matter what but damn do these boys need to start putting the puck in the net. No more fancy bullshit. Get bodies to the net, get rubber on the net

There's no reason that there should be any back-to-backs, given the bubble situation. What maks it worse is that if there is a Game 6, it's guaranteed to be an elimination game. If you're going to force back-to-backs, at least make it early in the series where it might not matter so much.

Like I said, we're the underdogs in this series:

Hope that puts a chip on their shoulder, first Presidents' Trophy winner to be an underdog in Round 1.

There were (potential) back-to-backs in the prelim round; no reason this is a big surprise. Different markets probably have different dates that they'd like to have or avoid - for example the Sox play on Thursday at 4:30. A Bruins game at 8 would make a nice double header. Same goes for Saturday - Yankees at night means they'd rather have the Bruins play the early game.

And once you have one series with a potential back-to-back, you pretty much have to have ALL series with a potential back-to-back for fairness. It lets each series finish in 13 days with Game 7s on Sunday (large viewership) and a "travel" day the next day so no team has the disadvantage of playing a rested team after a B2B.

I was hoping to get Bruins hockey on my birthday (8/22) for the first and likely only time ever.

Sadly that won't happen, barring quick series for everyone in the East.

I posted this in another thread a few days back, but here it is with some added info..

Including last year's sweep in the Eastern Conference Final (on the heels of Carolina sweeping their previous opponent and having to wait for the Bruins - sound familiar?) the Bruins are 10-1-0 in their last 11 games against the Hurricanes. The Bruins have also won 6 straight vs Carolina while scoring 3.83 goals per game and only allowing 1.33 goals against per game.

With the way both teams have been playing in Toronto this may not matter, but here are some notable head-to head player stats since the Bruins 10-1-0 streak began:

Patrice Bergeron -- 8 GP; 8G-6A-14P; 1.75 points per game; 27.6 Shooting %
Brad Marchand -- 11 GP; 5-13-18; 1.64 p/g
David Pastrnak -- 10 GP; 6-7-13; 1.3 p/g
David Krejci -- 11 GP; 2-8-10; 0.91 p/g
Charlie Coyle -- 11 GP; 4-5-9; 0.82 p/g
Jake DeBrusk -- 10 GP; 3-4-7; 0.7 p/g
Chris Wagner -- 7 GP; 3-0-3; 0.43 p/g

Torey Krug -- 11 GP; 0-7-7; 0.64 p/g
Charlie McAvoy -- 8 GP; 1-3-4; 0.5 p/g
Matt Grzelcyk -- 10 GP; 3-1-4; 0.4 p/g; 50.0 S%

Tuukka Rask -- 7 GP; 6-1-0; 2.44 GAA; .921 Sv%; 1 Shutout
Jaroslav Halak -- 6 GP; 4-2-0; 2.17 GAA; .937 Sv%; 2 SO

---------------

Petr Mrazek -- 6 GP; 3-2-0; 3.65 GAA; .874 Sv%
James Reimer -- 4 GP; 2-2-0; 2.60 GAA; .935 Sv%; 1 SO
Anton Forsberg -- 1 GP; 1-0-0; 1.00 GAA; .969 Sv%

Sebastian Aho -- 11 GP; 7-6-13; 1.18 p/g; 22.6 S%
Teuvo Teravainen -- 11 GP; 5-5-10; 0.91 p/g; 19.2 S%
Ryan Dzingel -- 24GP; 7-3-10; 0.42 p/g

Brady Skjei -- 10 GP; 1-5-6; 0.60 p/g
Sami Vatanen -- 9 GP; 0-3-3; 0.33 p/g
Jake Gardiner -- 25 GP; 0-8-8; 0.32 p/g

Aho (+2) and Vatanen (+1) are the only Hurricanes players that have a cumulative positive +/- over that time period versus the Bruins. Jaccob Slavin is a combined -9 in 11 games during the same period.

*some of the stats may look odd due to a few of the players playing for multiple teams during the Bruins current 10-1-0 streak.

Bruins are deeper, better structured, better defensive game and much better goalie.
Mrazak will not have a save % above 905 for this series.
Bruins in 6
Top line and goaltending are the only advantage I think. Canes are deeper lines 2-4 and have better D.

kthx

Gotta go Canes in 5. Rooting for Bruins and hope we can do this but most of our players look like they just wanna go home. Rask steals 1 game and averages over .915% but our guys just dont show up.

Please prove me wrong.

Series goes the distance, but turns on a costly turnover by Jake Gardiner, and we all feel a temporary moment of normalcy. Bruins in 7.
I like you said B's in seven , but watching the last 4 games, they just look disinterested! I hope they can flip the switch and show up but Canes were already in a playoff series and the B's sleepwalked through 4 games. Got my fingers crossed.
