Damn! And me who was hoping for Bronze Knights. The little kid who used watch Saint Seiya is sad.

Going out to Tahoe next year, hopefully it’s in time for a game out there.

Definitely should've been Bronze Knights.

This gives me a Langley Falls Bazooka Sharks from American Dad vibe.
Could Tim T be hedging his affiliation bets with the teal(-ish) brand color & monster theme? Maybe a dual deal with Vegas/Henderson & Seattle/CV?

I talked with one of the individuals in the organization last night and, while he wouldn't come out and directly say it, he gave me the impression that they have an agreement in place with the Vegas Golden Knights organization and were planning on making the announcement in a few months.
The reason they went with a "monster" theme is because the local legend here in Tahoe is that a friendly lake creature named Tahoe Tessie lives in the lake.
When locals were asked what the team theme/mascot should be, Tahoe Tessie was the most popular answer.
Tahoe Knight Monsters checks off both of these boxes.
I would have preferred the Tahoe Blue Knights as the team name but Knight Monsters will be more fun for the marketing department to work with and sell.

Don't say anything at all
The ECHL should adopt a 6-division format in the future as follows:

East:

Adirondack, Maine, Newfoundland, Reading, Trois-Rivieres, Worcester

Greenville, Norfolk, South Carolina, Wheeling, (expansion placeholder)

Atlanta, Florida, Orlando, Jacksonville, Savannah

West:

Cincinnati, Kalamazoo, Fort Wayne, Indy, Toledo

Allen, Iowa, Kansas City, Tulsa, Wichita

Idaho, Rapid City, Tahoe, Utah, (expansion placeholder)

(the other Western expansion team can go in any of the three divisions)

This ensures that no division spans more than two time zones

No division spans more than 2 time zones right now.

I am sure Wheeling will appreciate losing their divisional drives that are under five hours to ensure they never drive less than 8 to 10 hours for a divisional road game. Not sure why this hasn't been done sooner, really.

Got the call for season tickets today and grabbed a couple in section 105. Purchasing was easy, with no extra fees, and the Senior VP of Sales I spoke with, Tony, is a big Vancouver Canucks fan, so we had a great conversation about the season so far.
We're lucky enough to live a few miles from the arena and could ride our bikes there if the weather was nice.
Vehicle parking is available at the four casinos next door and there are plenty of bars and restaurants within a minute walk.
I have friends in Reno who are getting season tickets for their families right behind ours, so it should be a great time.
Really looking forward to seeing some great hockey next year!

Absolutely worse name for a sports team ever!

If they needed to keep the Knights affiliation in their name they should have gone with the Blue Knights.

I have been to the arena several times already and it will be a great place to watch hockey! Hopefully they build a team worth watching.

I got on the list but ultimately passed on season tickets. They are going to have a challenge selling the place out in season so I expect tickets will be available. Parking is not free nor cheap any more (part of the deal that was made to allow the center to be built).

People who don’t live here won’t be “running up the hill” just to catch a game, especially if there’s weather…
