Lots of reasons to like a 3 PM start on a Sunday:

1. More rest for the guys early in the series
2. Don't have to stay up until midnight because of an 8 PM start
3. It's not at noon game, which are always lazy efforts
4. Gives me something to look forward to later in the weekend as opposed to worrying about the workweek ahead

HOWEVER, Mother's Day?!?! I have two young kids, so it's all about my wife and my own mother on Sunday. Might have to DVR and shut off the phone to watch later.

I hate mid-day or afternoon hockey PLAYOFF games. The reason is that its finally getting nice out and I like to spend as much time as possible outdoors this time of year. Luckily sunday looks iffy.

In my opinion, out of the three teams the Bruins have faced/will face, Carolina has the best defense. Something I also think that was missing in the Columbus series was a center on that team that can shutdown the Bruins, Staal can be that player.

The Bruins faced a fast team in Toronto. A physical team in Columbus. Carolina is a bit of a mix of both. Probably the least physical of the three for sure, but they are relentless and give 100% each shift. It should be a good series.

Don’t take them lightly. The Canes are on fire and confident. This team doesn’t want to go away.

Don’t underestimate any team.

This describes Carolina perfectly. I believe they will be a much bigger test than the Leafs or Blue Jackets. I think this goes 7 and it's a coin toss who wins.

The numbers don't lie! :naughty:

Then, to extend the predictive power of numbers, we beat St. Louis in 4 in the SCF and David Backes gets to raise the Cup on St. Louis ice. Perfect ending. :D

I really like the decision to not split up Krug/Carlo. Felt like they almost certainly were going to move Carlo back up with Chara.

Special Teams is gonna be such a huge advantage for the Bruins this series

PowerPlay
Boston 28.6-%
Carolina 10.5%

Penalty Kill
Boston 83.8%
Carolina 75.0%

This could be a short series if these special teams percentages hold to form this round

check out these, Moore must have broke butches hot tub or something:

Correct lines for a 1 game pinch. If it was longer or Game 7 maybe we do something else but a Game 1 when we should be fired up Clifton should have no problems skating with Z.

the more i look at it, the more confident I get.

Toronto had far more skill and elite offensive play than CAR
Columbus played a far heavier forecheck than CAR

they've weather those storms (no pun intended).

This team seems locked in mentally. They are veterans of success and have that look of "we know what we need to do to take this"

Same. I like putting Clifton with Chara also, and Grizz-Kampfer will be fine. Kampfer is not my favorite blueline option, but he's been serviceable in his role and is a veteran guy that can skate decently and typically makes good decisions with the puck- he doesn't try to play beyond his abilities.

Ridiculous they haven't announced the date and time for game 2 yet. It is only a few days away, and Sunday is mother's day as well. Some of us need to actually plan things.

It sucks I agree

But there is a building conflict with one or two of the West teams so they have to wait for tonight’s outcome
