the only way they could have got the capitals is if they lost in ot/so in that final game and you can't really plan out for that anyway.

they showed that they can hang with the Lightning multiple times this season and in this playoff game too. hopefully a better start and some guys coming back in game 2 is in order.

what’s amazing to me is that apparently the leafs and flyers are better teams than us according to, like, everyone else, and we got less embarassed than both of them by the top seed in our first game back in six years.

One of my friends was the original guitar player for them back in the early 90’s LOL.

I haven’t heard much of anything they’ve done since the mid-90’s. Heard their singer is a real creep and he left the band last year. Now none of the members are original.

Always thought they sounded like an American version of the Exploited, mixed in with The Ramones and had cheesy lyrics about drinking and sniffing glue (like The Ramones). Always found it funny how they had songs making fun of long hairs, yet the band members must have had hair down to their asses when they weren’t loading up their giant liberty spikes with bottles of glue and beezwax.

Their “Kill the hippies schtick” was blatantly about Crass and Crust bands.

He also made no big saves and looked very shaky on routine plays. I agree that he deserves the next few games, but I’m not too confident in him. My concern throughout the late season run was that he would come back down to earth when the playoffs started. There’s no way you can take him out at this point though.

At this point, we have no one else 'cause Cory will NOT give us a chance to win right now.


Stick with whom helped bring you to this point and let the chips fall where they may.

Just remember that after those 3 goals(and the Devils players woke up finally), He played fine the rest of the way.

Agreed. Unfortunately, average isn’t going to do it against Tampa. Goaltending is enormous in the playoffs, and only great teams can get by with average goaltending. The Devils aren’t one of them.

I don't think people believe the Flyers are 'better' than us...we basically finished one loser point behind them and for all intents and purposes split the regular season with only that loser point difference. The Leafs are another story though I do think Boston's a terrible matchup for them cause they do everything the Leafs do only with much better D.

Tampa played a veterans game. They let the game come to them, shoved our mistakes down our throats and didn't give up too much.

They're a smarter team. We have to outwork them. And we did for half the game. This is a winnable series.

Funny story I can share about a punk message board community that I used to frequent back when I was younger.

It was very cliquey and there were some cool people on there, but there were some downright mean people on there. It wasn’t moderated tightly enough and you had a couple of really self-righteous people on there. They seemed like otherwise good people, but I watched them cyber bully the f*** out of this girl on there. One guy seemed like such a human rights activist, an animal rights activist (he was a vegan) yet he would cyber bully the f*** out of this girl. I tried to intervene and I then became a target and I wasn’t cool enough for their clique either.

Too many phonies out there wearing a facade. It was heartbreaking and disgusting. I’m pretty sure they even photoshopped a bunch of shit into her picture. And the one guy was 30-something years old! He was no kid!

I always hope that girl didn’t harm herself.

I can go on and on about horror stories from punk/hardcore/underground music forums. For a community that advocates acceptance and equality, it really soured me. I enjoy forums like this one much more, even with some of the main board crazies. Those forums are sometimes more cliquey and elitist than the jock cliques in high school that they rally against.
