I went with Fucale....almost guaranteed to improve the current goalie depth...

the center depth is bad....but none of those guys are really locks to improve on the gagner, horcoff, lander, martindale depth...

maybe re-sign or trade gagner for nichushkin/lazar/lindholm ....please and thank you.

Interesting that three teams with one ball got top ten picks, I would kill to see daily's face if the oilers got a top three pick.

Also that ***** eating grin of tambi's was priceless.

Check the op, updated in there, number of balls in parenthesis and a link to a more detailed explanation of the draft if there isnt any games played this season.

There will be no draft until a new cba is ratified.

Order of players was taken from the ISS list. I believe I altered it once so Anaheim didnt have to take another dman.

Complete ISS list can be seen here.

For simulating the draft order, I used this. You can try it yourself if you like.

Thanks man! :yo:

I laughed my ass off at the ''Bettman draft'' option!

Edit: My first time clicking ''Quick Draft'' gave me Edmonton as 1st overall! :yo:

Zadorov... he won't be available at #19... but if he's still there he's the obvious pick at that point imo.

I did a mock draft as well... and the Oilers came up at #15... if that was the case and Pulock was still there on the board... choosing between Zadorov and Pulock for that #15 spot would be a nice problem to have. :)

Lots of good choices still at #19.

What about a big skilled forward like Anthony Mantha or Frederik Gauthier?

Gauthier could be the answer to our #2C.

Ive seen Mantha play and was impressed. Not seen much or hardly any of Gauthier though.

Zadorov or Morrissey would fill d-man holes for us

Gauthier is large to say the least and would fill a 2nd or perhaps 3rd line center need for us (and i don't think drafting at #19 it's a bad thing at that point to draft for "need")

and Fucale could be a great goalie of the future...he's the best goalie available and the Oil would take him and not Martin or Comrie.

overall there are still some very good players left at that spot in the draft, though i'm still hopeful, if there is a partial season to be played, we can draft a little higher AND make the playoffs. is that even possible? :help:

I chose Rychel. I know people will shake their heads at taking another winger, but the kid has decent wheels, good size and a bit of jam to his game. And he can put the puck in the net.

That said, I'd rather try and trade up for a C. If BOS were picking at 12 and Nichushkin was there, I'd package both 2nds with the first to move up. That kid would be dynamite with Yak.

Mantha > Rychel

I am game for Fucale or Zadorov as well.

I am on the Nichushkin wagon also, Edmonton can afford to trade up or down in the draft as well, should be good, our scouting is solid these days.

I donno enough about the guys not in the top 5 to have any real opinion. I like the idea of going for a 2nd line center for the future. But I would be up for anything although RW is probably the least of need.

Center
D-man
Goalie
LW
RW

Would be my order of preference. But if at 19 or wherever the best guy is a RW then I guess go with him.

best player available = most valuable

with this rebuild it will make players that possess value become expendable for veterans or whatever ibecomes a neccessity down the road for Edmonton.

if we did end up with yet another winger, then all kinds of possibilities are available. trades of kids for vets, Hemsky or Jones could go bye bye for D help, or the Oil could even trade their 1st rounder if it's a mid round or lower pick, to a team that has two 2nd round picks, like Detroit did in 2011. (correct me if i'm wrong on this!)

Unless by some miracle you walk out of this draft with Jones I think it is almost a necessity to come away with one of the centers. So many talented, big centers in this draft. It is almost impossible to believe that there will not be an option available if you are in the top 20. If not use the assets the team has in the bag to move up.

I will never hear the end of it if Calgary ended up winning the lottery.

I hope Winnipeg wins the lottery.

Hey,better for Winnipeg to get Mackinnon instead of Columbus.

Columbus=Franchise going nowhere.

Columbus gets 3 1st round picks in this deep draft... if they end up with say 3 picks in the top 15, that could give them an instant deep prospect pool.

I didn't realize MIN has three balls. They are going to be a stacked team in the years ahead, possibly our arch nemesis.

I just hope the season gets played out so Calgary can draft 14th again.

I'm surprised about the votes for Domi. Most complain about the size of our squad now we're so willing to add another short player.

so pretty random overall :D

I clicked 6 times and the Oilers finally cracked the top 10 with the to pick. I would love to see Barkov on the Oilers, his size, skill and able to play both sides of the rink. Scary team. If we get the 1st over all pick I say we trade it as teams would love to get McKinnon and we could get our number 2C and dman that we need.

A reminder that CBJ have LA and NYR picks.

I cant see Zadorov still being there but if he is you have to take him, then I would look at Gauthier or Rychel.
