There are some solid defensemen available, and the smart play is always best player available, but our offense is horrendous outside of Suzuki and Caufield - we need high-end forwards more than we need back-end kids. We had good youth coming along for the blue line in Guhle, Barron, Harris, Norlinder but outside of maaaayyyyybbeeee Roy, there isn't much top-end offensive talent in the pool. Some good kids, sure, but no game breakers.

Totally agree here unless we're picking 1st overall, it seems very hard this year to see who's the BPA in 2nd and 3rd overall.
Romanov, Guhle, Barron, Harris, Mailloux, Xhekaj, Norlinder give us a lot to work with in the coming years on D and someone like Cooley, Wright or Slaf would greatly improve our prospect pool upfront.

I would just point out that, rest assured, we'll be drafting in the lottery for years to come. We'll have plenty of opportunities to fill our needs. So, I don't see any reason to reach to fill them right away. If we keep finding gems by taking BPA, we'll be in the best position moving forward, rather than stuck with a bunch of KK'S, McCarron's, DLR, Fucale, etc... that we drafted for need.
