My Sharks' so-called "prospect" Boone Jenner tonight scored a goal and an assist and passed 200 hits in his rookie season in a thrashing of the Islanders! :yo:

And he's heading to the NHL playoffs, where his compete level will be most appreciated/effective I suspect!

An undrafted line: Jussi Jokinen - Brad Richards - Troy Brouwer

I thought about all three at one point or another (especially when the third liner came around) but decided to pass on Richards, who's 4th in the NHL in shots taken but couldn't pot even 20 goals! and both wingers may have produced offensively, 54 points to JJ and 23 goals for TB, but they have each disappeared for stretches and benefitted by playing with better linemates, so neither are playing like winners who'll contribute to a line. Still,... if this were a 20-team draft instead of a 16-teamer, they certainly would have garnered a role.

Playoff match-up:

As a GM I've built a team that could compete for the cup now and into the future. So has the Buffalo Sabres! Both franchises are firmly built on guys who have a lot of good years on them. Kuddos to PriceIsGod for his assembled squad. That said,... the Sharks have a better blueline and a bit better goaltending but it should be a competitive series!

We are very happy with our team, we have a well balanced team with great young guys combined with guys that have the experience.

We have a deadly top 6 with Crosby as our #1 and i feel that we also have a very good bottom 6 that will make the job and even better!

Our D are well combined and our Goaltender are just amazing. Rinne as #1 And ward as #2.

It's a good night tonight in the NHL for Sharks starter Palat with a couple of goals, prospect Jenner with a goal and my Sharks prospect Girgensons potting a couple of goals against the playoff-bound Red Wings, including this beaut.

kfcdsID.gif

If a player gets injured or suspended, the Sharks depth in NHL-ready talent is obvious.

The Jets will play the lower seeded team advancing while the Flyers will play the higher seeded team in the Semi-Finals. With the amount of teams active/making the playoffs, that's how the format turned out.

PM me votes as soon as you can.
Stanley Cup Final will be in the poll section.

My Sharks were the 8th seed and bounced in the first round of the playoffs of a Donut draft. There goes all my hard effort. Oh well, **** it.

Good luck, guys that remain.

The match-up between both our forward crop will be pretty close but I think my team has the tougher and more rounded blue-line compared to the Red Wings. Also, we have a godly 1-2 punch of Niemi and Smith in net, up against the goalie duo of Bobrovsky and Gigure. Best of luck to NyquistIsMyGod.

The match-up between our forward cores will not be close. You are not better in net either.

Jonathan Toews has 6 goals and just 22 points in his past 36 playoff games.
Ryan Kesler has 5 points in his 9 playoff games.
Eric Staal hasn't touched the playoffs since 2008/2009 and is coming off his worst year in 10 years.

Fact is, you have three centers here. Yes Staal's played the wing and Kesler a bit here. Both have slown down. Both are playing a different game.

Henrik Zetterberg shut down Jonathan Toews last year. Z's line will be going against this line. Hernik Zetterberg has the highest PPG of any of these guys this season and is known as a playoff performer. You also have Zach Parise on the wing, an elite two-way guy. Blake Wheeler's size and speed will be on the right side.

Second line is cool. Not bad.

I have a superstar in Ryan Getzlaf, who will finish 2nd in points this season. He'll play with Martin St. Louis, teh leading scorer since 2010 and two-way speedster with 50 points Clarke MacArthur.

So so far I've had the clear edge on both the top lines.

Your third line has kids. Not much defense. Kids. My third line is Alfredsson, Legwand Nielsen. All three have hit 50 points this year and have fantastic two-way games.

My fourth line should be able to control your fourth line easily with speed and defensive hockey. It's got speed for days. Jason Chimera, Darren Helm, and Michael Frolik are fast. They can score. They check. Again, fast.

Your defense is solid defensively. Not much offensively. I have legit offensive guys (Campbell, Zidlicky, Markov) and sound defense guys (Gudas, Greene, Faulk). All my guys can skate, and play in both ends.

Goaltending isn't a 1-2 punch in the playoffs. Sergei Bobrovsky is quite clearly the best one here.

Honestly, :wings should be over the :jets

Better players. Better playoff performers as well.
