Cam is willing to deal prospects for Proven NHL talent. Sweeney doesn't seem as willing.

I'll respond to you here on your comment in the GDT. Cam may seem more eager, but Sweeney seems a lot more level headed and isn't going to rush into anything. I also get the sense that Sweeney is much more in there on our players than Neely is.

Sweeney sounded more comfortable than I thought he would. Talked about Beleskey and his struggles, resigning Chara. He wasn't asked about passing on Barzal. I guess it was a safe day to go on because there's no doubt Felger would have.

He actually spoke much better and for a lot longer than I thought he would. I hope he comes back again when Felgers there.

Could be. I hope so. He was just real quick to point it out after he mentioned Barzal.

I wish he was more like Ainge in this regard. If he passed on a player (Barzal or anyone else) because he felt his staff had rated other players higher, then so be it. No need to justify just because Barzal is contributing on an NHL roster this year and Senyshen and Zboril aren't yet. With picks, it's not who can make the fastest impact, it's who can make the largest impact over the course of their careers. Those chapters have yet to be written, so why give the critics validity? Until Senyshen or Zboril prove themselves to not be NHL caliber players, this is still an unknown.

Of course he waits until a day that Felger is out to go on the show. What a coward. Can't stand this guy.

Really. Maybe you should go support the Canadiens then. Marc Bergevin seems to be a very brave guy if you want to support a team with a “brave” GM. Hell he traded PK Subban.

And I’m sure Don Sweeney checked Felger’s calendar to make sure he wouldn’t be there when we went on the radio with them next. :shakehead

The other problem is I dont think Sweeney's mind set and personality lends itself to weekly hot takes questions. He pretty much laid out the plan and said with young players comes inconsistencies and job is finding and developing the guys who can be trusted on the ice in all situations. I almost thought he gave subtle dig at Spooner when he said guys can come up and be PP specialists or be all-around players.

I'd guess answers each week would be the same and maybe not great radio

My deep rooted belief at Sweeney's utter incompetence has been pointed out, I will give Donnie Danger credit for emerging for his hobbit hole which is one of my many complaints against him. One down couple dozen to go.
