Bale wants out because he's (was) not happy with his minutes on the field. Maybe now he'll stay. But Ronaldo could be gone. I hope he will come back at home. I don't care how much it will cost.

It's crazy how calm Real looks in big moments. They never look overwhelmed or outmatched. When they get their chances they have world class talent that makes those chances count. They play like they know they're going to win in big moments.

Reminds me of a certain hockey team that's won the previous two championships. Their top end talent takes over the game every time they need to win a big game, and it's goodnight Vienna for everyone.

Russia's new soccer hooligans take to the woods to fight each other

OviKovy.....explain this culture.....I just don’t get it.

A Chelsea fan don't get the hooligan culture? :sarcasm:

Unfortunately, russians football fans in the 90's wanted to copy the english fans from the 80's/90's in every aspect, so the majority of the fans in the 90's in the stadium were the hooligans but since early 2000's (2002, 2003) the trend changed.
Now the stadiums during games are composed of family with kids (the very big majority) and you have a little sector for "ultras" but those ultras just still have only the name.
but of course you have still some jerk, a very little part, for whom (for the most part of those guys) the entry to the stadiums is forbidden in Russia, because we know their names.

But we all know why we have this "interview" 10 days away from the start of the World Cup in Russia:sarcasm:. If the journalist wants to know more about the hooligans (and not because it's in Russia) he should come in Belgium, France, Italy, were you have those organised fights. They like to meet each other in the nights on highways (on the gas stations car parks.) And the scale of those events are scary sometimes.

btw, this year, the record of the total number of fans that came across the russian league to watch the games in the stadiums (so 30x8=240 games) was broken. + with another team with WC stadium coming in the big league next year, this record should be broken again.

Who fires a pretty successful coach the day before a World Cup?

Crazy...
It's the hot young mediterranen blood

There is a new president of the federation (a young one for that job) . Lopetegui signed an extension less than a month ago

In fact he was fired just to show that there is no club which is more important than the national team.

Heh was just reading an article that says he lost the room (players), except Ramos who defended him.

Apparently he told them all all year to focus on the World Cup and not worry about Club football (paraphrasing) and he goes and secretly negotiates behind their backs.
