So if I murder someone I should get 1 year in jail if I'm otherwise a good guy with no criminal record?

**** like that shouldn't matter. If you make an idiotic hit, you pay the price.

Have you not heard of first, second and third offenses in our legal system?

Wood's boarding is not equivalent to that of murder. Give me a break.

Yes I’m still here to piss you off

Because that is a totally similar situation. Did you even think before you typed that garbage out? What sort of logic (if any) did you use when you decided this was a logical retort?

2 games is fair. NHL needs to remove their heads from their ass and apply this more consistently though.

This hit by Tom Wilson last year which put Moore in the hospital didn't even have a hearing:

If he had any history OR the Lightning Player was bleeding and/or was prone on the ice, then 2-3 games would be fair.

But he has no history and the player was fine. 1 Game suspension(at worst).
Why should an injury make the difference?

Offence is the same, penalize the offence not the outcome. It's the one of the major problems with DOPS, along with consistency and being too lenient.

This whole discussion is moot anyway.

He got 2 games which is fair, imo.

He has to now watch himself and not play like an idiot or he'd get more games(5+) next time.

Time to move on.

It was a bad hit. He deserved a penalty and a fine, but no suspension. He can play reckless sometimes but he's not a dirty player. Not the type to go maliciously trying to hurt anybody. But he does need to reign things in and play a smarter game
No suspension for a charge, jump and board right in the numbers? Nothing to do with the player being on the team you support, I suppose?

What in your book would deserve one?

He didn't jump into him. Feet were on the ice when he made contact.

He deserves a penalty and a fine.

If he left his feet and targeted the head and used his elbows or stick, then yes that is suspension worthy. This is not.

No way that Wood gets the same number of games that Marchand had gotten.

1 to 2 games(tops) is what I think will happen. Then he will serve them, return to the team afterward, and it will be business as usual again.
That's the problem, players aren't suspended long enough to make a difference, DOPS is far too lenient.

Charge and jump? You missed the slash to the head, the cross check, drop kick, the flying elbow from the top turn buckle and the apparent murder...or attempt at least.
