Last game of the season are you watching at sunrise? And who do you think will win?

I'll be there, and I think it will be a Florida win.

We used up all our goals for a like a week and we never score when Cory is in there.

Was impressed with Hraberenka. He's a lot more mobile than I expected. Perhaps we found another diamond in the rough.

I kinda feel sorry for Fraser, honestly. I mean, if you hired a garbage man to make your wedding cake, who's fault is it when the cake looks and tastes like garbage?

That is just a perfect analogy.

lol Helegson... Kinkaid was PISSED! Charged off the ice after that one

Glad you noticed this as well because that head shaking he was doing as he was walking off was pretty ridiculous. That kind of stuff is a joke.

Your teammate happened to make a bit of a mistake and it bounced in off of him and went in. It happens. Won't be the first or last time that'll happen while he is in net.

Showing your teammate up like that, especially as a rookie and doing it to a fellow rookie no less....for such a big fan of Marty's - that was a compliment teammates always gave to Marty; that he never showed his own team or players up when their mistakes led to a goal - you'd think he'd know a bit better. Even regardless of if he was a fan or not, it's just not right.

I saw no problem with that, tbh. :dunno:

First off, did Severson see the head-shaking? And if he did, did he know it was directed at him? If I was in his skates, I wouldn't know myself but at the same time I would be more disappointed in the outcome of the game to think about things like that regardless.

Besides, teammates get on other teammates all the time. Just 'cause you're a rookie doesn't prevent you from acting like a teammate who is upset at another teammate for a bad play.

I'm sure Kinky had seen the replay by now and saw it was a bad deflection so he probably went "my bad" to Damon later on anyway.....(and that's IF Damon knew that Kinky was shaking his head at him)

Nope sorry. Don't feel bad for Fraser. Didn't that scrub hold out on Lou for more money? What made him think he ever deserved anything more than the minimum? He has never ever been even a decent NHL D man.

And honestly I'm glad guys are emotional after the game. It's good that they are pissed at each other. At least they care.

It was Helgeson.

Still, give the kid a love tap with the stick as to be like "it's OK". I'd feel bad for him too. You see his reaction to what happened and it's apparent that Hulk felt guilty. It was a fluke play.

There is a fairly large difference between being emotional and showing up somebody on your own team

He held out to get a contract guaranteeing he'd be in the NHL. I see no issue with it. That's everyone's dream. If Lou was salty about it, Fraser wouldn't be here. So essentially, you're more salty about it than Lou is lol!

Kinkaid was annoyed at losing his last game of the season just like Cory got annoyed after losing in Ottawa last year for his last start (though in his case he lost a shootout so he wasn't showing up anyone). I agree Kinky should have been more supportive of Hegelson but I'd rather just chalk it up to general annoyance that his season ended with a loss.

Soon as the penalty was called on Fraser that late in the 3rd that was going to give Tampa a 4 on 3 in OT the game was over.

It really is irrelevant how the goal came about - Did anyone actually thing they were going to kill that?

Did he? I'm sure if he did I didn't care enough to pay attention.

It wasn't more money per se, Fraser was just holding out for a one-way deal as opposed to a two-way.

Thank you guys for the correction. So to correct my statement, what made that scrub think he deserved to be in the NHL?

And yes, I am more salty than Lou because I can't stand garbage players that think they are good, let alone the worst player in the history of the game. And what does Lou have to be salty about? He loves crap players.

Saying Fraser is the worst player in the history of the game isn't even hyperbole.

He's THAT bad. I warned you all that he was a disgrace right when we signed him to the AHL deal. I saw him being with the big club coming from a mile away.

There's a reason this player didn't have a job until Lou came calling in mid to late November.

About Kinkaid and the head-shaking, I don't think it's that big a deal. It's not the most appropriate way to deal with Helgeson's gaffe, but most goaltenders are known for being a bit temperamental and having their quirks. As New Jersey Devils fans, we were just blessed by the fact that both Marty and Cory are cool, collected goalies, so if they get angry at teammates for making mistakes that lead to goals, they don't really show it, but a fair number of goaltenders in the NHL do get visibly miffed at teammates for things like that. Maybe Kinky will pick up a calmer approach to those errors from watching how Cory deals with those situations, but if not I'm sure his teammates know the hockey truism that goaltenders are weirdos.

As for Helgeson, I felt bad for him, because you can tell he meant well going down to block and it ended so horribly for him. You could see how terrible he felt when he buried his head in his hands. Hopefully some other teammates and coaches were supportive of him. I'm sure that moment is seared in his mind and he will be learning from that mistake. Even though this was hardly a high-stake game for the team, it reflects well on his character that he cared enough about the outcome to be visibly upset by his error.

It most certainly is hyperbole.

Rank these defesnemen for me for this season only.

Gelinas, Harrold, Fraser, Salvador

You gonna tell me Fraser was the worst of this group this season? There has been no worse than Gelinas. Period. Bar None. While he has been much better since being shifted to the right side and I know we all love that promise of "potential", We haven't had a worse defenseman than Gelinas play on this team in a few years.

It was far from Helgeson's fault regardless. It was a nicely executed passing play that got both Greene and Zajac out of position and Helgeson in an awkward position. He could have played it better, but I don't blame him for that.

If anything, I blame Greene and Zajac more. They both left a WIDE open seam from Johnson to whoever it was playing the opposite point in the box -- I think it was Stamkos. After that, the Devils got caught scrambling and Tampa passed it around us with ease ending up with Helgeson being in the situation he was at the end.
