Detroit doesn't need 2nd and 3rd pairing D any more than they need 2nd and 3rd line wingers.

As one poster already said, Detroit needs top line guys.

Didn't realize Duclair's value dropped like a rock, but if they feel like one or more of Bodqvist/Hughes/Dobson/Bouchard is around at 8, Detroit definitely thinks about it if the Hawks are willing to make it worth our while to do so. Completely different story if they feel none of them make it past the Nucks.

Personally, Duclair doesn't move the needle at all for me, even with the Nas/LV pick swap and me originally thinking Duclair had at least some value in a bubble.

I'm completely fine picking the best of that bunch at 6, which is why I haven't thrown out any names. Detroit's under no pressure to make a trade here. Its all on the Hawks to move that needle.

And yes, 100% agree Wings need top line guys, but we absolutely can use more 2nd pair/middle 6 potential guys in our pipeline for the long term. None of which I've seen mentioned in this thread.
