Honestly they could win 11 if Walker could just play OK football, the Steelers/Broncos/Rams/Bears/Jets are all beatable, but they have already had so much luck with some of the wins with Walker already it is hard to imagine the bounces all keep going their way, it has to even out at some point you would think

Now the big question is, is the Jets game a prime time game, and if not, is it too late to flex it in to primetime?

Should have kept Dobbs. Remember, Deshsaun being terrible cost the Browns the game against the Stillers week 2. He threw a pick 6 1st play and fumbled that they ran in for a touchdown. As long as Walker doesn't self destruct they could win this week. I think they can get to 10 wins, see if that is enough though.

His cap hits jump to nearly $64 million/year for the next three years due to restructures for this year. Granted I guess they can keep kicking that can, to a point. What a disaster.

Watson is so mentally fragile that this is going to also cost the Browns wins early next season because he'll be rusty. Any break he gets from football now causes him to be awful when he returns.

This puts him at 12 total NFL games over the past three seasons. Browns haven't even gotten a full cumulative year from him.

And that is assuming that the injury does not cause permanent issues with his throwing, is the injury to his throwing or non throwing shoulder?

This was part of the problem with the price paid to get Watson. It's not just the contract. They gave up a lot of draft capital, so any time they think they have a bit of redundancy, they are going to send it away for some draft help. Dobbs got them a 5th rounder. DPJ wasn't getting much use, so they preferred the 6th rounder for him.

Throwing shoulder. I can't imagine he makes him worse ability wise. He played his best half as a Brown with it broken (and probably numbed up).

Wait, maybe him being loaded up with painkillers is why he had his best half of football as a Brown. He finally was mentally calm.

Also year 1 where he got minimal salary like $1 mill so he would not lose much to his suspension. By the end of this season they would have paid him $90 mill while only incurring $30 mill total ($10 last season and $20 this year) in cap hits. They have pushed $60 mill into the future.
There is $9 mill of dead cap in year 6 after watson’s contract ends.
So the browns can continue to push more dead cap past his contract. Probably end up with $25 mill or something in dead cap in the year after his deal expires as they continue to restructure base salary into a bonus.
