Low risk high reward. If Samberg Heinola or Niku are ready it's not really a big loss to have him sit. He's basically protection of any of them aren't ready.

Lot of decent defenseman in next years draft. Maybe no fans in the arena anyway this season, so no playoff ticket money to worry about. A season of all out attack, Laine and Co get their point totals looking good whilst the defense lets in enough to guarantee us a shot at a top pick.

Same thing last year. Yeah, depth, yeah injury replacement -- but it's still blowing 3 x 1million on red-flag maybes rather than spending that cash on 1 guy who can get the job done. Especially in a year where we've got real talent in the wings. Do not get.

But who knows? Hopefully Chevy.
