Hamlin/Chastain rivalry renewed on final lap @ Phoenix; NASCAR reviewing video after Hamlin deems contact was 'intentional'; remember, Hamlin is a co-owner/driver and hosts a podcast on Dirty Mo Media;

Club Wyndham joining Legacy Motor Club/84/Johnson for COTA/Coca Cola 600;

Gary Martin Hays & Associates primary sponsorship-38-Gilliland;

XFINITY:

Driver change as Garrett Smithley officially leaves BJMM (started the season w/ the 99; that car was shut down last week); Smithley now rejoins JDM Motorsports in the 4 replacing Bayley Currey.... Currey's plans are TBD after departing JDM (also was running a partial CTS Schedule);

CTS:

Off the Grid sponsorship for Atlanta for Young's Motorsports/12/Boyd

as detailed since Friday at Phoenix Raceway here's the penalty report:

all 4 Hendrick teams docked 100K; (LARGEST team fine since Next Gen released) all drivers lose 100 driver points and 10 playoff points; all crew chiefs suspended pending appeal for 4 events; same penalties as seen w/ RFK/Front Row in 2022 for tampering w/ the car as louvers were deemed illegal; same penalties assessed to Kaulig's 31/Haley for same issue; Hendrick teams/ Kaulig will appeal;

Almirola's crew members suspended 2 races for wheel issue @ Phoenix;

Hamlin vs Chastain II: Hamlin assessed penalty for Conduct Detrimental to NASCAR; however, NASCAR says the podcast Hamlin has w/ DIRTY MO MEDIA is fine/acceptable; Hamlin ASSESSED 50K Fine loss of 25 driver points;

Would love to know just what the hell they did to these hood louvers and how it fave them some advantage. Most people it's just dumb rednecks turning left. Obviously they have no clue! Looking forward to race weekend at Atlanta deffenilty want to a race there. I go to the Daytona 500 every year and been to Talladega once. Same style of racing but, much more intense on a 1.5 mile track!

that's why all 5 teams have appealed this, but as stated the precedent was set when this car debuted as RFK and Front Row were caught last year.... ironically, it was this week a year ago, that RFK was caught and except for Buescher's upset at Bristol, the 6 never recovered from that as that team needed to be rebuilt from the ground up... Teams are no longer building these Cup cars.... they are if if's an XFINITY/CTS Team, which are steel as compared to the composite bodies in the other two series.... it's all vendor issued that's why you're also seeing limited backup cars if there's an incident on track in practice because there's no longer a full backup car nevermind the safety inspection that was done.... now an incident means you likely don't qualify, not just practice

that's also why you saw the change to what Almirola's team had at Phoenix.... it used to be both crew members and crew chiefs were responsible for the crews.... were included in the suspension/penalty report, now it's just those who were directly involved in the issue and the modified

Truck series only still has steel bodies. Xfinity went to composite bodies like 3 or years ago. It's helped that series be more competitive IMO.

THAT'S WHAT I stated.... the XFINITY teams are still building their cars because they've never swapped cars every decade or so as the Cup Series did in 2022.... Trucks did adopt the digital dashes..... XFINITY really hasn't adopted them otherwise you would've heard Fox mention that by now
