He'll be back for sure, just too many healthy bodies around right now and Knight I think was waiver eligible.

Knight can't be sent down and Shaw has outplayed him. Move makes sense

Yep, makes sense. Others have played better, so it's the obvious choice to be sent down. I do like him though and is a good player to call up and will have a future in the NHL I think.

He definitely toned things down this time around. I thought he was more effective before he was sent down for the first time.

let the kid play his normal hyped version... _rooting him and installing boring hockey version 1.0 was a mistake.

Was a good move if they aren't going to play him. I think he is a better wing than Knight but the team is going to keep Knight up as they want the option of moving him back to C if the Migraines pop up again and or Nick struggles and the 3rd line becomes a liability.

I guess they don't have to put Bolland on IR until Kampfer returns. Harvey stated they expect Bolland to be out until at least the All Star break.

As he should. Knight and Shaw have outplayed him.

I figured Brick would have outplayed Shaw and Knight. Guess it isn't so. Proper move then.

Good move. Get's ice time down there

If you would've asked me a month ago, I would've thought (along with a majority of this board) there was no way Brick gets sent down before these two (Knight & Howden). People were calling for GG's head when he kept scratching Brick over the others (myself included). He was playing some great high energy hockey.

But, that's before his play dropped off. Minimal intensity on the ice, which hurt his overall game, including his limited offensive side.
He was like a wild force his first time up, positively reckless. After he got sent down, then back up, he was too cautious, almost afraid to make a mistake and get sent down again.

I hope DT or someone in the organization gave him a good explanation of what they want to see from him on a consistent basis. Going down to Portland will give him ample playing time, still on a very competitive team.

You never know, we may see Brick again this year. I wouldn't bet against it.

I think Gallant scratching him early on was the reason why his play has changed. Probably wanted him to play a more composed game and not smash everything in sight which plays against his strengths. His style of play has changed.

I thought this was effective in small doses on the 4th line. Not really sure what the higher ups have in mind with him.

Seeing that now we are relatively healthy up front it's good he can go to Portland to find his game.

Not sure if he'd have much value at this point, but if DT & company don't believe in his game, maybe it makes sense to move him for another project? :dunno:

Any opinions on the upside and realistic projections of conner brickley and Corbin Knight? Would you bet money that they will become NHL regulars eventually? Maybe give NHL player comparisons for them.

Between the two I think Brickley is the better player. When he is on, he is a great mix of speed, checking, and good enough offensive instincts to be a middle 6 guy. His problem is choosing the battles and not getting penalized for it.

Knight is faceoff specialist who's probably most like Dmac. He's a bottom 6 dude who is very useful.

Right now Knight seems to up full time with Panthers while Brickley is playing and working on his game more in Portland.

I'm not a big fan of Knight.. He's a good face off guy, but that's about it. Definitely not a fourth line winger.
