Suzuki and it's not happening.
OP is a trash offer.

The only reason for the Avs to move Byram would be to address a pressing need, and Suzuki doesn't really do that. No question he's a good young forward and much more valuable than the OP, but we already have a plethora of good young forwards, and I'd much rather keep Byram and build the best U23 defensive group in the NHL, with essentially 2 "top pairings".

There is no fan base no delusional about a player's trade value than Montreal when it comes to Tatar.

He isn't worth close to this and this is the 10th Tatar trade proposal where Tatar get massively overrated.

Montreal fans, get this through your heads: if you want Byram and Newhook, it's going to cost Price with 3% retention AND Weal AND a 2nd round pick in 2022.

Yes, you read that correctly.

Thoughts on the below:

Montreal: Tatar + Norlinder

Colorado: Byram + 5th 2020
Some of the Habs fans (not all.. not all) have an asinine sense of value for MB's roster players. Why not just make it Makar and move the 5th to a 2nd rounder. Is this an April fool's joke? It's 26 days too late bro.

I would be open to discussion for a 28-29 years old top 4 lhd yes.
It's a different situation for the Avs, they have other bullets available for a Tatar trade. Also, Byram has more value then Caufield imo.

Newhook also has move value than Caufield. Why would the Avs trade for Tatar when they can just add a better player as a UFA (T Hall). Or a similar forward in the next tier down for nothing but cap space.

Avs don't need to extinguish any bullets to get a rental like Tatar. They'll just use the best rental market of all. free agency.

Sure because you say so lol.
There's only a handful of players anywhere close to Tatar level set to be UFA. Some might sign before July 1st too. Newhook vs Caufield are pretty much the same you can prefer one or another, saying one is clearly on top the other is juste being biaised.

They are both great prospects. Better today than when drafted given how well each played as freshmen. I think they'v both closed the gap and perhaps passed Turcotte.

The Avs have the best pitch this summer for Hall if he's serious about playing for a contender. No one with cap space is remotely as good as the Avs and Hall is superior to Tatar. So that's not some pie in the sky concept that the Avs get a long look from Hall and his agent. They will be a lead horse in that race should Sakic participate. Dandonov and Hoffman are very nice players in the vein of a Tatar, but won't cost anything to acquire so that makes them more attractive. Toffoli isn't a bad fall back option either. The Avs have looked at Granlund before and he perked up nicely in the month leading up to covid-19 ruining everything. Even Namestnikov looked great for the Avs in his short window on the team and he kills penalties. Craig Smith even fills a need Tatar doesn't (PK forward and biggest weakness for the Avs). I'll agree that most of these guys are at or below a Tatar if Tatar was a UFA. But he's not and they are. And I'm certain at least one of those guys above would sign with the Avs should the Avs make an offer that approximates what they'd get from a lesser team. There was never any noise that Sakic was interested in Tatar and that was before Tatar entered his contract year. Now that he's got no term remaining beyond his final season, that equation doesn't change to favor a deal.
