isn't this the second or third time Cogliano hurts someone of our team for good?

I've never had a knee sprain. 3-4 weeks sure sounds like a long time? Anyway, he is a young player who looked to be really improved, so it's a bummer, BUT at least nothings torn. If he's the real deal it won't derail his season.

So now Granlund will get more TOI, and Zucker gets more NHL time. They might have skill, and in Zucker's case speed, but we just got smaller and weaker. Not good for team that is already small and weak.

Yeo is going to **** the bed now that he has to make line changes. Brodziak 2nd line C.

So indirectly this injury is also Koivus fault, and he should feel the heat?

ultimately it's managements fault for trading for and/or re-signing players that can possibly get injured.

where should heatley go then?

third line supposedly gets more minutes and is defensively oriented.
fourth line looks like a possession juggernaut so why mess with it?

I don't know--he's too slow for all of our lines.

Heatley's injury really cockblocked our team this year. Can we send him down to Iowa? lol

Honest to God, there's actually a chance he'd clear waivers too. Not sure any team would be willing to take on that cap hit, especially after seeing how he's played so far through two games.

injury is inevitable.

edit: if he's as out of shape as he has looked so far.

There is no way they will pay a guy 5 mil to play in Iowa. No way. He and his cap hit are not going to be put in the press box either, you can book it. He's staying in the lineup as long as he's healthy, we might all as well learn to accept it and hope he does well. Maybe they will put him back with Brodz eventually and get him off the top 6, but that's about the best we can hope for.

The sad thing is that Heatley could have a huge impact on the team if he was turned into a 4th line RW, PP specialist.

A few times teams have done that with over-the-hill vets in the playoffs to great effect. They are fresh and hungry when they get out on the PP.

But no way a guy like Heatley allows that to go for an entire season.

Thank God it's not an ACL tear which would have ended his season. We are lucky it's minor by comparison.

Charlie Coyle will take part in #mnwild's morning skate Thursday; not playing, just to take next step and speed up recovery - per Yeo

Nice!

Hopefully that means we can see him against Montreal on the 1st or New Jersey on the 3rd.
